50 Games like TRANSFORMERS G1: AWAKENING for PC Windows, daily generated comparing over 40 000 video games across all platforms. This list includes Chaos Reborn, Tactical Monsters Rumble Arena, Into the Breach, The Last Warlock and 46 more. Transformers G1: Awakening is a fantastic strategy experience that takes me back to the old days where strategy meant more than speed. Unfortunately, the graphics also take me back to the old days, and that's not a good thing.

Contents.GameplayAwakening is a turn-based strategy consisting of three modes: Story Mode, Showdown and Cybertron Arena. Initially, only Story mode is available, but its completion will unlock Showdown, which upon completion will unlock Cybertron Arena. Each mission is essentially 'destroy or be destroyed', with your goal being to destroy all enemy forces, though there are exceptions which require you to capture certain things on the map. The player is able to take control of both the and forces (though the latter are only available in Cybertron Arena).Story Mode follows a very rough version of the original G1 cartoon. Both sides awaken on Earth and begin fighting for energon, and the Autobots make multiple attempts to retake Cybertron.Showdown is a group of scenarios that each revolve around a 'gimmick'. These range from the player using Ironhide to take down Trypticon, to Blaster and Ratchet vs.

Soundwave to Grimlock vs. A large group of Decepticons.Cybertron Arena is a group of maps on which the player can choose to play either faction. They can then choose to play against the AI or another person. Both teams start out on either sides of a map with 4 random units from each side and are tasked with destroying all enemy units.

Scattered around the map are power stations which either side can capture to aid them in the battle. A problem with this game-mode is that the units assigned are completely random, and given the overall greater number of weaker units on the Autobot side, the Autobots are quite often given a bunch of weaklings (Ratchet, Prowl, Eject and Blaster, for instance) while the Decepticons are given Megatron, Trypticon and Shockwave (which is relatively common, since they have fewer units from which to pick).Power stations are typically located on all the maps and can be captured by each side to help bring in a flow of energon each turn. Energon is used for multiple things; its main use is activating units (see below), though other uses involve upgrading your units and repairing other units (Ratchet's signature ability). Each turn, the player is able to perform various activities with their units; this includes moving, changing forms, capturing a power station, attacking an enemy or activating another unit. Only characters that have a vehicle-like alt mode (such as and, but not or ) can change forms. In vehicle mode, they have stronger armor and can move much farther, but they can't attack or defend themselves, nor can they capture power stations.Activating units is a trait shared by, and Blaster (though the latter two can only activate their respective tapes). When the player has enough energon stockpiled, they can use one of the above units to bring in more units.

Each unit has a cost involved with activation; a weaker unit like will only cost a small amount of energon, but someone powerful like will cost a fortune. Any unit that has been destroyed can be reactivated if their side meets the energon requirements. (The exceptions are Metroplex and Trypticon, as once they're down, then there's no one around to reactivate them.)Each unit has a health bar and ratings for ATK, DEF and SPD. The first three are used for combat, while SPD is used to determine how much a unit can move. ATK determines how much damage they do to an enemy, while DEF determines how much damage they take in return (though it should be noted that no matter how much armor a unit has, they will always take a minimum of 5% damage).

As a unit's health is decreased, their attacks will begin to do less damage until it reaches 0%, in which case they're destroyed. The combat is split into two parts, melee and ranged. Most units are melee, though there are some ranged fighters—namely, and Megatron, though the latter can fight at melee range as well—of whom Megatron is the strongest. The two sides do have some other noticeable differences; the Decepticons, though fewer in number, are typically stronger than their Autobot equivalents. In a straight-up fight, Soundwave, Megatron and Trypticon will easily defeat Blaster, Optimus Prime and Metroplex respectively. There are exceptions to this, though; is the strongest flyer, while Grimlock is the strongest unit in the game.Another difference is that most Autobots can transform (giving them a large movement bonus), while most Decepticons can't, though as usual, there are exceptions. The Decepticons have the most flyers (the Seekers), who can easily cover most of the map in their plane modes.Storyline. Four million years ago, the ' and crash-land on Earth, and the Autobots and Decepticons go into stasis. In the present day, awakens on Earth.

Hedonism. He is briefly instructed by about what has happened so far. A volcanic eruption awoke the Decepticons, who escaped.

However, aside from the two of them, the Autobots are still in stasis, and need to be powered up. Bumblebee then encounters. After dispatching the Decepticon, he meets up with Ratchet, who further explains what has transpired. They then encounter, who is in the process of harnessing a human power plant to produce energon, and defeat him. With the energon they've harvested from the power plant, the pair reactivates and before moving out to locate more power plants in their quest for energon to help energize their comrades. They eventually encounter the and, whom they promptly defeat.

Immediately afterwards, Prime convinces Jetfire to defect to the cause before sending him on a scouting mission. During this mission, Jetfire comes upon both. Megatron immediately attacks the traitor, but thanks to Jetfire's superior speed, he is able to escape and complete his mission of powering down three force fields that are protecting a space bridge. This is part of Prime's plan to return to Cybertron and rescue any Autobots still there. The Autobots are able to break through to the space bridge and teleport back to Cybertron but discover this was all a trap by Megatron, who informs them that had already captured all of Cybertron during their hibernation on Earth.

The Autobots all rounded up, have their weapons taken, and are sent into the prison-cells. Ratchet and Bumblebee are able to escape and locate an armory in which to arm themselves before they free the rest of the Autobots, who then proceed to escape back to Earth to regroup. When they return, they encounter the Decepticon Seekers and Tapes attacking, whom they rescue. After fighting off the Decepticons, Grimlock immediately runs off to find more 'Cons to munch and ends up taking down a group of them himself.Meanwhile, the other Autobots receive a distress signal, only to discover that it's a trap. They are just able to escape and return back to the Ark, but discover that the Decepticons have followed them and are planning on a last-ditch attempt to capture the ship. The 'Bots are able to fight them off, thus ending the war on Earth, before Prime announces that the best way to end this war is to make a surgical strike at the Decepticon Shockwave himself. They re-enter the space-bridge, and teleport to Cybertron before deciding that they need to take down a power facility which powers the automated defenses on Shockwave's fortress. After this, a specialized squad is sent to penetrate the fortress's defences, while Bumblebee and Prime directly confront Shockwave.Prime tells Bumblebee to flee and help the other Autobots, but 'Bee chooses to stay and fight. However, even their combined might proves no match for Shockwave, who single-handedly defeats them both.

Just when all hope is lost, Grimlock comes onto the scene and turns Shockwave into confetti between his teeth, effectively winning the battle.Afterwards, Grimlock says that he wants more 'Cons to crush, to which Bee replies that he should pace himself or there won't be any left. Grimlock agrees with his assertion, while Prime sadly contemplates that Grimlock will most likely get his wish of crushing more Decepticons. ShockwaveNotes Errors. During the opening cut-scene, the Ark is misspelled 'Arc'.
